RIM Blackberry Curve 8900
Foreword:
The Blackberry Curve 8900 is claimed to be the thinnest and lightest full QWERTY Blackberry Smartphone till date with a gorgeous body. The only drawback that can be pointed out in the design is that the top of the phone slants abruptly, making it hard to press the lock and mute buttons.
It has a killer Wi-Fi support, which is quick and really easy to set up. The device has a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilization capabilities and a powerful flash. The photos it captures are sharp, true coloured, and the camera can also record 240 x 180 pixel video. The phone is also equipped with organizer apps, like a calendar, that can be synchronized with a personal computer or USB to a corporate Blackberry server. The 2.5-inch, 480 x 320 screen is awesome for viewing videos and the screen’s ambient light sensors adjust brightness deftly no matter how dark the room is. The lack of 3G comes in as a matter of primary concern as it is growing as the current trend. Contact management on this device is very good. Its ability to search contacts merely by typing the first and/or last name from the home screen is really handy. Messaging is still the focus of any Blackberry, and the Curve 8900 deals with such tasks well. There are a large number of keyboard shortcuts to make messaging even faster.

- Impressive 5 hour talk time battery life: A very good feature when it comes to high end Smartphones.
- Built in GPS: The built in GPS helps usage and navigation through maps much easier.
-Ves:
- No 3G available: For a high technology device of this magnitude, the non availability of 3G is a huge setback. It would have been much better with a 3G.
- Low quality speaker: High quality audio is what most of the users prefer, and the integration of a low quality speaker to this phone just made things worse. It could have been much better with better speakers.
- No email support without Blackberry Internet Service: As in the case of most Blackberry devices, this one also has restricted freedom when coming to internet and email. Email support is only provided with Blackberry internet service.
Final Word:
The RIM Blackberry Curve 8900 is one of the best smartphones available, yet with most advanced features, sleek and beautiful design and a full QWERTY keyboard. The screen quality and resolution is awesome and is worth watching videos, and the camera plays a supporting role taking excellent snaps and videos. The device has an impressive battery life, and the only disadvantage that can be marked out is the non availability of 3G. For the offered price, the Blackberry Curve 8900 is worth a buy if you are not planning on using 3G services.
